Fishes, Fishes Everywhere!

My hubby loves fishes (or any type of animals) so last weekend we went to visit this warehouse factory that sell all types of fishes at an affordable price. There sell both fresh water and saltwater fish. Currently my husband is rearing saltwater fishes.

The puffer fish (i call it the blubber fish) reminds me of Nemo's friend when he was trapped in the dentist's aquarium. This fish keep spitting water at me whenever I passed by...I have a feeling it don't like me.

Reviews of Acadmey Award 2009

Usually I only do reviews on movies or korean dramas but I would like to make an exception where instead I talk about the 2009 oscars. Well... it is a special tv show where it is only done once a year.

I really like how they revamp the show where instead of having a comedian as the host, they have choosen Hugh Jackman. So no more wisecrack, political or racist jokes instead we have a decent musical opening. Okay, I am a big fan of Hugh Jackman since he played that australian move "Paperpack Romance" and then he played as Wolverine and several romance movies with stars such as Ashley Judd and Meg Ryan. He is a hottie and so charming and he can actually sing...oh well lets no forget he does broadway shows and did host the opening for the Tony Award. The opening by Hugh Jackman was great, and the icing of the cake was the duo with Anna Hathaway. Awkward moments of the oscar

Yes..everyone is talking about it. The Jennifer Anniston and Brangelina showdown. Jennifer and Jack Black presented for best animation and the camera keep flicking to the Brangelina couple. The past is the past...both of them are happy with their own partners. However, I do notice that Jennifer was a bit awkward on the stage
Zac Efron and Vannessa Hudgens looks a bit out of place during the musical stint with Beyonce and Hugh Jackman. I do love them...but it just seems awkward and I really do not like Zac Effron slick hairstyle
I thought 5 previous winners to present an award was tad bit too much and time consuming
Ben Stiller trying to impersonate Joaquin Pheonix. Well, it was funny but I thought it was a bit insensitve and it kind of pull the attention away from the award that they are presenting.

Furthermore, I would also like to mention about the fashion (girls love to talk about this..hehe)I thought the best dress should go to Anna Hathaway and the worst dress goes to Jessica Biel (so disappointed coz she has such a nice body but opt to wear a towel bow type dress)

So overall I thought the oscar was so much better than last year but still has it flaws. Thank goodness Hugh Jackman is there to save the show!

We went back to my hometown for christmas and new year and it was a memorable and fun time for us. It was also Elijah's first trip to Sabah and his first time on a plane...phew it went well coz he slept throughout the whole journey. I was happy that we were able to meet up with all my relatives and also a few of my past time yum cha friends...hehe..

Me and hubby decided to do a mini pool party for the kids and we even bought a inflatable pool (thank goodness it can fit all of them). However, my mum complained that we have made mud pool in her garden instead...hehe

I volunteered to do the cooking that night. Phew will think twice now before volunteering coz I was dead tired with all the food preparation (of course the kids help out...bless them!)

Since Becoming a Mummy...

Since becoming a mummy...

I sleep exactly the same time as my baby which is 9pm. Pre mummy status - My earliest sleep schedule is 12 midnight!

I watch Hi-5 and Thomas the Tank Engine until I can memorize its songs by heart and know when they are showing the same episode on the TV. Pre mummy status - Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewife, Friends, One Tree Hill

Wear less or zero makeup when going out because scared that the chemicals on my skin will rub on to Elijah when I kiss him or rub my face against his. Pre mummy status - "We are going out kah?...wait, let me put on my concealer, mascara and lipstick...maybe a little bit of blusher"

Wear less complicated clothes (no beads, sequins, strings) which is zero hazardous when Elijah suddenly have the urge to play with it or accidently rub his skin against my clothes and of course anything that is dark and comfortable (just in case he drool or vomit some milk on me) Pre mummy status - hmmm....anything comfortable but still make me look stylish and don't make me look fat..ooo...those strings looks interesting

Wear flats or low heels shoes because constant carrying of Elijah . Pre mummy status - high heels to work coz look at least tall and stylish and wear wedges to shopping...i still need the extra height

Check out the eateries whether they have good baby high chair and that it is fully aircond just in case Elijah gets hot with the weather. Pre mummy status - Lets go eat mamak food! or eat steam boat at the side of the road

Thats to name the few major changes in my routine. However, just to make my baby comfortable and smiling happily is worth it and anyway the early sleep routine and near to zero makeup has made my skin smoother and less zits....hehehe

Ok ...me back to 1, 2, 3, 4...Hi-5! Cannot wait to make my baby smiling happily :D

Elijah is now 7 months plus and can crawl, sit and stand (of course with something to hold on). So we bought him a colourful toy that can distract him for awhile...oh well maybe for 10 minutes the most.

High School Musical 3 Review

I went to watch HSM3 with my niece (8 yours old), cousin (14 yrs old) and hubby 2 weeks ago and I honestly enjoyed it. Well, I have watched HSM1 and HSM2 as well...hehe. This time there are more dancing (great choreographs) and singing. The storyline is a bit predictable but a feel good story and of course sweet romance (sigh....zac and vanessa). It started off with Troy Bolton playing basketball (Go Wildcats!) and of course they started singing....it was a bit weird when Gabriella started to sing out to him from the audience stand. My husband gave me the look when i laughed out seeing that scene. Yes...of course the Wildcats win the game and then there are more romance scene of Troy and Gabriella on top of his treehouse and singing of course.

Then the whole cast has accidently planted themselve to do a final muscial show to the dismay of Sharpay (which wanted to do a show of herself). Honestly Sharpay has suddenly become quite a stunner and Gabriella of course (no wonder Troy/Zac has eyes for her only). But then since it is the final year, they decided to do it .

"Oh Zac!, you can sing to me everyday!"

Since it was the final year at High School, Troy was divided in either choosing basketball or theater while Gabriella (the whiz kid) was choosen to attend an early orientation program at Stanford College which means she has to ditch the muscial show and the prom night. So...yadda yadda yadda...comes to the ending part, Troy drove all the way to Gabriella college (which I think takes a whole day drive) and convince her to come back for the musical show (of course with more dancing and singing). After the show all the cast decided what they wanted to do (which I find it funny that they need to annouce it out loud on the stage after a musical show). Ryan and Kelsi won the scholarship award to the prestigious Julliard school, Sharpay will continue another year at the high school to assist the Drama class and will go to UA to take drama, Chad will take basketball at UA, Gabriella is takeing pre-law (I thought she was a whiz at maths and science?) and Troy decided to go University of California where they offer him both basketball and theatre and also that he can be near to Gabriella (oh...isn't that sweet)

Of course the finale, lots of dancing and singing on the Graduation Day and the curtain close for High School Musical. It was a bit sad for me coz they will be no more HSM....how about College Musical or Post HSM???....lol. Well I enjoyed the show and I bet all those who are around my age or older are secretly enjoying it too but of course we give excuse that we were just companying our niece or daughters to the show.

Wah...I finally been tagged from Noi. Thanks Noi!...lol but okaylah this is for a good cause. My maternal grandmother passed away because of breast cancer and it was detected too late. So, my mum and all my sisters are trying to do regular check up every year. So please go get yourself check! I agree with Noi....Prevention is better than cure!

Interesting new korean drama for 2008!!

Two korean drama which are on my ' wanted to watch' list. Korean hotties like song seung hoon (autumn in my heart), Hye Bin(snow queen), Song Hye Kyo (All in) are back!!

1. EAST OF EDEN

East of Eden’ is an epic 50-part drama series that begins in a mining village in the 1960s. The drama revolves around family love, life-long friendships and bitter revenge. The drama features some of Korea’s most celebrated younger and older generation actors including Lee Mi-suk, Yoo Dong-geun, Jo Min-ki, Lee Jong-won, Song Seung-heon (Autumn in my heart), Yeon Jung-hoon, Jung Hye-young, Han Ji-hye (Bride 16l) and Lee Da-hae (My GirL).

I think this drama will be lots of revenge and love conflicts...a very serious drama type. I want to watch due to Song Sueng Heon and Han Ji Hye.

2. WORLDS WITHIN

The cast is Hye Bin (Snow Queen, My Name Is Kim Sam-soon) and Song Hye-kyo 송혜교 (Full House, Hotelier, Autumn's Tale; Hwang Jin-yi, My Girl & I). This drama will depict the process of television drama production. An interesting pairing and both are cute!.... a good reason to watch. I notice that Song Hye Kyo has cut her hair short!! but still looks pretty.

Elijah's Baptism

Elijah was baptized on 27 September 2008 at St. Francis of Asissi church in Cheras. The priest is Fr. Valentine Gompok (orang sabah juga) who was kind enough to slot us in on short notice. Alex family and my parents came all the the way from Johor and Sabah to attend this special ceremony. My sister Grace and her husband Tony are the godparents for Elijah (Thanks heaps who came back from perth to KK and back to KL just for this ooccasion).

Elijah's First Introduction to Solid Food

Introduced nestle brown rice cereal to my baby boy last weekend. He is now 5 1/2 months old. Surprisingly, he took it very well and even wanted to feed himself by trying to grab the spoon and cup from us. I guess he was excited about it as much as us...haha.

Trip to Phuket, Thailand

Last weekend, we went to Phuket for 3 days and 2 nights. It was not as great as Bali (well..nothing can beat Bali ) but it does has its beaches, islands and sunshines. Our Thai tour guide keep telling us that Thailand is the "Land of Smiles", however, I notice we did not get much smiles from the locals and even when they do smile..it lacks warmth and sincerity. The noticeable thing in Thailand is where ever you go, you are always greeted with "Swatika" with their hands clasp together which generally means welcome. The first thing you notice about Phuket is the tourists....they were foreigners everywhere especially in the Patong area.

Ibis Hotel

We stayed at the newly built Patong Ibis Hotel in the Patong area which I heard was hit hard by the Tsunami in year 2004. The hotel we stayed at was new and located a few meters away from the Patong beach. The rooms has basic facilities which I thought was enough for me. The important thing is that they have good strong powered showers in the bathroom and an LCD television which broadcast 50 channels.

One night stay is about RM200 per room.

Warning: Do not break any of the hotel's decorations. A guest broke one of the hotel's vase and it cost more than the room....around RM470. Please make sure you are covered with traveling insurance.

Islands

Phuket is famous for its islands such as Phi Phi Island and James Island (One of the James Bond movie was filmed there). However, our group decided to go to an island that is only 15 mins away from Patong town which is Coral Island.

Coral Island

You can do snorkeling, diving, parasailing and banana boat activity at the island. Our tour covered the cost for snorkeling. However, all of the corals are dead maybe due to the tsunami and not much coral fishes to see compare in Pulau Redang, Malaysia.

Warning: Lunch at Coral Island is not worth it. It is buffet style but the food is of low standard. One of our group member even found a dead fly in his food.

Bangla Road, Patong

This road is notorious for its night entertainment....Go-Go Girls Bar, Cabaret Bar, Beer Alley Bar, Thai Girl Show and the infamous Lady Boys (Pondan). You will hear a lot of callings and persuasion to visit their entertainment bars and shows from the pimps. One of the famous calling is "Look See! Look See!". Not recommended to bring children which surprisingly I notice a lot of tourist pushing their baby stroller in the area vicinity.

Tip: In order to repell the pimps, go-go girls and lady boys harassing your husband, hold tight to him and gurantee you would not be harassed.

Warning: Only take photos with them if you are willing to folk out 100 Baht (Rm10). As for me, I did not know about this so I was force to pay that fee. Another tip, a chinese / japanese lady will be standing there taking photos acting as a tourist which I found out was also part of the ploy. Furthemore, the lady boys will grab your hand to hold their...breasts. A very weird experience. Take photo from a distance if you do not want to dig in your wallet.

Baby Room at The Curve, Damansara

We went to the curve shopping mall last weekend and to my pleasant surprise I saw a baby room right in front of me. Thus, decided to change Elijah's diaper since the last change was in the early morning. Lo and behold my little boy has done his poo poo business without telling mummy. So after cleaning and changing him...I looked around and notice that the baby room is fully equipped and beautifully designed.Just wanted to show an example of what a good baby room should be. Hopefully this kind of baby room is incorporated in every shopping mall throughout Malaysia.

The baby room has colourful designs and soothing to the eye. It looks just like another sweet boutique shop from the outside.

It has two changing diaper table with foot pedal dust bins for the used diapers. Above the changing table, it has mobile toys to distract the babies.

A separate cubicles for mummies who want to breast feed or bottle feed their babies in private. The cubicles are big enough to fit a pram.

Shopping mall with baby rooms are a dream for every parents with young infants. Developers for shopping mall please put this as one of your main priorites.

Kwon Sang Woo Getting Married

At first I cannot believe it when my sister called me up to inform me about the rumours of his upcoming marriage. So I went to search through the internet and yes it is confirm that this korean actor age 32 is getting married to an actress who is also a former Miss Korea, Son Tae Young age 28.

For those who do not know who is Kwon Sang Woo...well he became famous after appearing in several tearjearking romantic korean dramas such as Stairway to Heaven with the famous Choi Ji Woo (our famous heroine in Winter Sonata), Sad Sonata and Cruel Love. He also became famous from the romantic comedy movie " My Tutor Friend".

Kwon Sang Woo is announcing to the press conference that he is getting married on September 28, 2008. He propose to her on a hot air balloon in Australia few years ago.

Of course, with his marriage announcement, a lot of his fans were not happy about it. Some fans even gave insulting remarks to the future Mrs. Kwon Sang Woo. We as a fan including me, should be happy for the couple and wish them well. They are humans too.

Confinement after Baby Delivery: Wive Tales - Myth or Fact?

After delivery, chinese believe that the mother should under go a month of confinement which means confine at home. So I went through confinement for a month...some say it can last for 40 days but I did mine only for 30 days which I think is long enough for me.

Here are some of the wive tales belief and what is my verdict of it:

Do not allow any part of your body to be touched by cold tap water

TRUE: I could not believe it but it was true. Me (konon) a modern mum did not really believe in this myth so I washed my hand with cold tap water during my confinement. A month after confinement, I had painful joint pains in my fingers. My in laws told me that I did not follow the rule of not touching cold water. It was so painful...so whether I believe it or not, I will obediently abide by this rule in my future pregnancy. Better to prevent than exprience it. By the way, after rubbing some chinese oil on my fingers and taking glucosamine supplements, the pain has subsided. However, I still experience joint pains during raining season.

Do not wash your hair for a month

NOT SURE: I of course could not stand not washing my oily hair for a week. So my confinement lady told me i could wash it once a week with condition that it must be dried straight away with a hair dryer and my scalp must be massaged with whisky (yes..whisky). I think this rule is to prevent any wind to enter your scalp which is to prevent any headaches or migraines.

Eat hot food (i.e. sesame oil, ingredient, rice wine, ginger) to heat up the body

TRUE: Well partly true for me. Of course for the first 2 weeks after delivery, the body will feel cold because we lost a lot of blood during delivery. So these foods are to heat up our body. The first 2 weeks was okay for me but the weeks later...it was bit too heaty for my body. I was sweating profusely and later on I was having sore throat due to the food. I even told my confinement lady to cook less of these type of food. I think my body is heated up too much.

No fan or aircond

SEMI TRUE: Well I insist that the aircond must be switched on during my confinement. I can live without the fan. Can you imagine confined in a room with the hot humid Malaysian weather without aircond or fan and all covered up. I believe that rule is to prevent any cold wind to enter the weak mother's body after delivery.

Bath only in cooked water

NOT SURE: I don't know why we need to bath in cooled cooked water. The shower is find with me. However, no harm of bathing in cooked water. There are some strict belief that do not allow the confined mothers to bath for 40 days!

Cover yourself when out of the house such as a hat and a cardigan

TRUE: This is to prevent the mothers from catching a cold or getting wind entering their body. However, I had to admit I did forget to wear my hat a few times when I went to visit my baby boy in the hospital. Of course, during those first few weeks...your body will feel a bit cold. So better to bundle up before stepping out of the house.

Of course, there are more rules to abide to . For me, anything is okay with me as long as me and the baby are in good health.

Home Made Steam Boat

Two weeks ago, we decided to do a self made steam boat at home. How did we do that?...well of course with our trusted rice cooker. So, off we went to TESCO supermarket to get all our ingredients. Of course, when hunger strikes... our shopping went a bit out of hand.

My last steam boat at home was on the of day of Lady Diana's funeral which was 11 years ago. Ironically, during our steam boat stint, the cable tv was showing a movie on "The murder story of Princess Diana". Somehow now I wills always relate steam boat with the death of Lady Diana.

So steam boat was a success but we kind of overdid it a bit. After that, my tummy was so bloated coz I think I ate too much. Thank goodness, for ENO which helps to settle my tummy down a bit.

The steamboat ingredient cost us around RM60 which was quite ok because it was quite a lot of food.

Fish balls (several types), chicken balls, mushrooms sausages, fish noodles... i really forgot what was the whitish stuff.

South Beach Diet

I am now following the south beach diet to lose my extra weight from pregnancy. Currently, I have put on a lot especially on my hips and legs. Wish I was like the celebrities where they just announce"oh...I got back to my pre pregnancy body just like well "few weeks" after giving bitrth". Well, unfortunately I am not one of the lucky ones to easily shrink back to their pre pregnancy body shape.

I would like to make a testimony, I actually lost 10 kg in a year by follwing the South Beach Diet plus of course with daily exercises like line dancing, belly dancing and aerobic exercise. However, that was 3 years ago where my only my aim was just to fit into that wedding dress. Now is a different story, my only aim is just to fit back into my jeans ( which i think is a more realistic goal) and furthermore since I am a mum, I do not have the leisure to do daily exercises except during the weekends.

So what is South Beach Diet?
Well, it acutally has 3 phasese: Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3

Phase 1:

Phase 1 is only for 2 weeks which now I am doing. Previously, I did this phase for a year...I know it was a bit extreme but I was getting married that year. So Phase 1 means no carbo (bread, rice, noodle, flour...) and no fruits. However, you are allowed to take any type of vegetables except carrots, beets and green peas, and chicken (except chicken wings and drumstick), lean meat and any type of seafood. The best part is you can take as much eggs and lowfat cheese which is my favourite . Remember to do this phase for only 2 weeks. This phase is designed to eliminate your sugar and starch cravings and to jump start your metabolism. However, of course when you just started this phase, you will be having all types of cravings in the first 2-3 days but believe me after that you will get used to it. Remember to always eat when you are hungry, this diet is not a starving diet. Phase 1 will certainly help to lose all those belly fat.

Phase 2:

Now you can reintroduce back carbo and fruits into your diet. However, the carbo must be those good carbo like brown rice, whole meal bread, and whole wheat pasta. Of course you can have some desert like those dark chocolate. Follow this phase until you reach your ideal weight.

Phase 3:

They call it the maintenance phase where after practising phase 1 and phase 2, you should know by now how to eat sensibly and once in a while can have those guilty indulgences. If you put back on weight, just go back to do phase 1.

I thought this was a easy diet to follow and which I would recommend to everyone who is dying to lose those belly fat. You could find more information about south beach diet on their website. Good luck!

I am now back to work after a long 16 weeks of maternity leave. My baby boy Elijah is now at a Day Care Centre and I miss him terribly. So I am back to blogging....I will update a lot of stuff like :

Officially a Mum!

I am now officially a mummy!!...i gave birth on 29 March to a beautiful baby boy name Elijah Roman Chew. My water broke when I was in church while I was lining up for communion..haha. We rushed to Sunway Medical Center and was informed I had to do emergency C-section because the baby head is still high up. So, operation started at 10:30pm and the baby came out at 10:50pm...Throughout the operation, all I felt was someone pushing and pulling my lower body (i was on epidural) and suddenly 4 people went on top of my upper body to push the baby out (haha...felt like in a rugby game). What an experience...and just looking at Elijah...everything was worth it.

Malaysian Election Day

Me and Alex decided on the election day which was last Saturday, 8 March 2008 was to just be a couch potato in front of the TV. So my hubby went to buy KFC for dinner...the plan was we were suppose to eat slowly in front of the TV while waiting for the election results (thats what couch potato do right)....well instead we gobble up everything in lest than half an hour...haha. I guess we were really hungry.

So back in front of the TV with my scorecard form....which was provided from the The Star newspaper waiting for the results. I guess it was a habit since small coz I would sit in front of the TV with my dad and write down the winners and the losers on the form. They promise the result at 7pm but as usual....malaysia time...the result came out much much later. So I keep flicking through the channels from TV1, TV3 and ASTRO AWANI (501) and 502. This Astro Awani bit slow lah....all they do is talk nonsense and analyse the whole situation...like lah we need to know all of that. So while taking down the results I realize that the opposition party was winning a lot especially in the 5 states (Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Perak and Negeri Sembilan). Then it started to get interesting...hehe. We found out that that Kelantan and Penang won by majority by the opposition and that Negeri Sembilan was won back into the government before midnight. However for Kedah, Perak and Selangor....the results did not fully come out until 3.30am. By then me and hubby was too sleepy to wait up anymore and decided to go to sleep.

The next day...well actually few hours later in the newspaper, it was announce that opposition party took over Kelantan (PAS), Kedah (PAS), Penang (DAP), Perak (not sure which party yet) and Selangor (PKR)......hmm interesting. Oh yah...and KL too!

It is a political tsunami!

Now I am in my 37 weeks...waiting for the arrival of my baby boy. Everyone has commented that my belly is huge and that I am due anytime soon but according to my doctor I am due end of of this month. Baby is now 3.2 kg....meeting the doctor this weekend, hopefully the baby weight has not increase that much. Oh man...I got another 3 weeks to prepare myself....better practice on my breathing techniques...deep breath in and deep breathe out

Comments from my beloved family and friends concerning on my pregnancy:

Grace : Wah baby so big, sure koyak one oh....but big baby means smaller size when adult and kurang sakit (emm..bit relief hearing the latter comment but not sure about the first one though)

Mum: I think your baby will come out next month....better ask doctor to induce. You were overdue 10 days...so I think runs in the family. Induce very very sakit oh (hmmm....ok i will note that down...gulp)

Mum in Law: Good lah big baby....big baby easier to take care than smaller baby. Bigger baby easy to handle especially when mandi .

Alex: I think the baby will arrive on 21 March because its Good Friday (I guess someone is not going to church if baby is out on that day....)

Work mates: Huh...you are still here . We thought you due early March. Your tummy turun bawah lah....memang due anytime. I think you badan dah naik also (Yes...i know...its called water retentioni)

Lilian: Eh...you did noy put on weight lah, only your tummy is big. I bet you only put on 15 kg right (Wah...the whole day I was smiling after that beautiful comment)

Faine: You look cute and you did not put on weight. Only your tummy is big (Thanks again....I'm smiling and glowing)

Last saturday, I met up with my friends from Sabah...Marina and Julia. They were in KL for the weekends. It was great meeting up with them again.....furthermore, all three of us worked together once in KK. So you can imagine the chaos we created in the office...hehe

Me and Alex brought them for dinner at Zanmai Pasta at 1 Utama shopping mall, Damansara. The restaurant serves a fusion of pasta and japanese food. I was kind of surprise that the restaurant was packed with people coz the last time I went there it was kind of empty. It must have been due to the popularity they got when their restaurant was published in The Star newspaper recently and that the food is quite good.

So these are the food that we ordered...

Marina ordered sashimi set with pasta.

The set includes salad and miso soup. She got two sets of salad.

I ordered Chicken Katsudon with pasta in white sesame sauce.

My verdict...it was quite yummy and the potion was big.

Alex ordered Hambug with tomato sauce set.
It was actually two big pieces of beef pattie burger covered with delicious tomato sauce. Hehe...actually my kind of food. It taste great.

Julia ordered fried rice covered with omellete and with tomato paste.
She was not so happy with the food taste....Julia is actually half japanese so she should know what it should taste like. She said, if in Japan...the egg should actually melt in your mouth. I did tried the rice and I agreed with her coz I thought the rice was a bit soggy and furthermore Julia was not happy that the fried rice has capsicum in it. Our verdict....the taste is just moderate but food presentation was interesting.

We also ordered Tiramisu and Fruit Parfait for our desert. I love the Tiramisu...yummy....

Review of Cruel Love Korean Drama

Remember I promise a review of this korean drama in my last month blog...well only watch it if you are a big fan of Kwon Sang Woo (the Stairway to Heaven guy). The drama is a bit draggy and lot of suffering and sadness. A summary of the movie, at first the girl goes out with KSW 's brother in law but he is married to KSW's sister. So KSW's sister found out about the affair and went to attack the girl...causing the girl to miscarriage (yes..she was pregnant with KSW's bro in law's baby). So the girl ran off to an island and lo and behold, she met up with KSW and they both fell in love. So the predicament, when they came back to Seoul...they realize about their situation lah....coz she is KSW's bro in law ex mistress....so from there suffering and torture starts. To make matter worse, the bro in law divorce his wife and declares he still love the girl. So the girl is like in a dilemma....and as usual KSW with his teary doe eye still loves the girl fiercely eventhough the girl cannot make up her mind (hmm...feel like want to sepak her few times....lol)

Ending Spoiler

Be warn...do not read from now on, if you do not want to know the ending of the drama. It is a happy ending....as you can see from the pictures above. KSW and the girl ended up together after been separated for a year. The bro-in-law....poor bugger, he dies coz of some disease but with a contented heart lah and that that he reconcile back with KSW's sister (his ex-wife).

Overall, it has a good ending but not so satisfactory lah coz the girl is a bit stiff.....if I were her, come on show some emotion lah that you finally ended up with the guy you love. The ending was just a hug and smiling to each other (hmm...where is the kiss)....like saying phew thank goodness this drama is over and now can go back to sleep.

Chinese New Year 2008!!

This time for CNY, spend most of my time at my husband's hometown in Johor. Did not go back to Sabah coz not in a condition to fly (sniff, sniff.....8 months pregnant already). At first, we decided to drive back to Johor early in the morning on CNY eve, then my husband suddenly decided after arriving back from work that we should drive back to Johor ton that night itself (the night before CNY eve). Thank goodness there was no traffic jam, smooth sailing and arrived his hometown 10.30pm.

Chinese New Year Eve
Husband and his family all went to the temple to pay respect to their ancestor, I was not urged to go coz of my pregnancy condition. So, while waiting for them to come back, called my family back home and chit chat for a while. For lunch, went to hubby's eldest house to eat fried noodle and fried pork balls. After lunch, played Black Jack...hehe. Then evening time, collected cater food from a chinese restaurant and brought it to the eldest aunt house. Meet all of alex's family members where some came all the way from Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur. They were oohing and aahing my bulging tummy....and some even say i put on much weight and look so chubby. I receive the comment with a smile. After dinner, back to Black Jack!

1st Day Chinese New Year
Yeah...wear new clothes and giving out ang pows. Breakfast had the ritual chinese gingko and longan with deep fried kuih bakul. After breakfast, visited alex maternal grandparents. Lunch time, back to eldest aunt;s house and play Black Jack. Later, it was time to visit the eldest uncle's house and later on back to alex's parents house where the relatives came over. Dinner time, ate a chinese restaurant with the whole family again. After dinner, visited the eldest uncle's daughter house and continue on playing Black Jack...hehe

2nd Day Chinese New Year
Alex maternal's grandparents treated us for lunch. After lunch went to eldest aunt house and played Black Jack. Dinner time, ate with the whole family again at the government rest house. After dinner, back to Black Jack at eldest aunt house. Phew....tiring rotating between eating and black jack....haha.

3rd Day Chinese New Year
This time, relatives came over to alex's parents house for lucnh where my mum in law prepared fried bi hun and fried rice and relatives brought over peking duck (yum yum). After lunch, played Black Jack. Dinner time, had something very different, the family ordered nasi briyani with mutton and chicken. Hmmm...had 2 big plates of nasi briyani (overeating guilt). After dinner, last round of Black Jack.....then before midnight, bid farewell to everyone.

In conclusion, had a great time....and baby in my tummy put on 1.2 kg from all the eating. Now have to go on a diet a bit :p

Amazing Race Asia 2 - Episode 11

I was having a slight migraine, bit of leg cramps and stomach discomfort but I still need to watch the amazing race asia last night. I was hoping that Natassha and Paula can still survive through the race eventhough they were the last team in the previous non elimination round in episode 10 and they will get a 30 min penalty if they fail to be the first team in the next round. This time, the race was in Budapest (hmm....now i know what Budapest looks like)...and the Singaporean team was the the first team to arrive coz they did the Fast Forward beating Marc and Rov (Philippine). Thus, Marc and Rov even tried to help Natassha and Paula by yielding the desperate houswife team....but I guess time was not on Natassha and Paula side. I thought they catched up pretty well...but still they got eliminated. I just like them coz they never fought and was so charming and sweet (in my opinion....they dun look like thai at all) Sayonara to Natassha and Paula

Now only left 4 teams....Singapore, Philippines and 2 Malaysian Teams.

A new korean drama by the hearthrob Kwon Sang Woo (stairway to heaven). Another tearjerker drama....hopefully not another bad ending like "Stairway to Heaven". I only started writing on this due to my mum who keep insists me to get the spoilers for this drama. I will update soon whether this drama is worth to watch or not and of course the ending review of the drama...hehe. Stay tune!

Pregnancy Anxiety!

Yes! I am officially 32 weeks which means I have entered my 8 months of pregnancy. Since entering my third trisemester, I have gained 14 kilos (pls tell me that is a normal weight gain), my feet and leg has bloated up (yup, i can't wear any of my old shoes) and I walk like a big penguin (similar like the adult penguin in Happy Feet). Other than that, I am happy that my baby is growing together with me...he is now 1.5 kilo and love to kick and punch in my tummy which means he is healthy and active as well. Furthermove, the good old placenta has moved up (recently was worried that i might have placenta previa where it is located at the bottom) and that the baby head has moved down ( no worries on breech pregnancy). Now the anxiety of giving birth is growing but I cannot wait to see my baby real soon. However, now I just have to go through the usual pregnancy discomfort like lower back pain (ouch!), ribs pain ( i think baby feet is kicking at it), sleeping discomfort, and need to go to toilet often (bladder now been squash). Other than that, i feel great...hehe....8 more weeks to go!

Our First Antenatal Class

Me and my husband attended our first antenatal class at Sunway Medical Centre last Saturday. At first I was a bit doubtful because it costs us RM200 plus RM10 for registration fee to enter the class. However it was a 4 session class...so another 3 more classes to go. After attending the class, it did clear a bit of my doubts and anxiety of pregnancy...thanks to the facilitator, Sis. Chong where she was quite passionate and gave comprehensive lectures about the subject. The first class was about a new beginning in pregnancy and how to do prenatal bonding with the baby.

Just a summary of the class, me and hubby came half an hour early so we waited and watch Mr. Bean on tv. Alex was disappointed lah when they off the tv to start the class....haha. Then Sis. Choong switch on a classical Mozart music which she says soothe the baby and make the baby intelligent. Well, at first i was a bit doubtful but then my baby starts to flutter around in my tummy...so i think Mozart does work (emm...i think my sis in law or my sis has a mozart CD somewhere). Then the class started, there were only 10 couples (for me smaller class is much better)...Sis Choong gave lectures using Power Point....and gave us lots of useful tips. The biggest tip was do not let the Confinement Lady bully us and take control of our baby (which i truly agree). She also state that there is no reason why we should not wash our hair for a month during the confinement (yes!!). After an hour of lecture, then we took a break for refreshment,...this to my pleasant surprise...they provide us fried rice, curry chicken and 2 types of kuih malay. Alright, this is really worth it...hehe. As usual me and alex are the first one to attack the food and the last one to leave the food....haha. Ok for me , understandable lah coz i am 7 months pregnant, i think for Alex...he is supporting me by eating together -gether lah. The last hour, she show us a video on that babies do form their personality early in the womb and a video on natural delivery through the vagina (alex face became a bit green after that ). Overall, it was a good session....but i think i got a bit of a backpain. I think they really should change the chairs. So I would recommend that first time parents should attend this antenatal class or from other places to prepare themselves...and they do give comprehensive handouts on everything related to pregnancy such as how to breastfeed, pain labour relief options, etc...If that still does not attract you...well at least they give satisfactory refreshments.

I have watched two nights in a row watching American Idol. As expected, it was funny and entertaining and the 3 judges still look the same; Paula, Randy (did he grow a beard or something) and Simon (still wearing his trademark plain t-shirt which i think looks good on him). As usual, Paula does not have much opinion and always agree to what Simon and Randy decide and for Simon i think he mellowed a bit this season. However, the word " Atrocious and wasting our time" still comes out..which i agree with him, some of the partcipants are really really bad.

Recap worth to mention for Philly Audition

a sparkly woman cursing bad words at Simon (I thought Simon put her down very politely and she over reacted when she came out of the audition). I think she just wanted to get popular by acting that way...I pity the animals if she does eventually become a vet.

The guy who wore the Jabba the Hut custome....haha....he even shaved off his chest hair for the judges. What was he trying to prove.

The creepy guy who composed a very creepy disturbing song for Paula. If i were the judges....I would have asked the security gate to kick him out when he started to use the &*%$ word. How does Paula sleep at night after hearing that creepy song...give me the shivers.

Of course there were good singers, for instance...this pretty lass who does martial arts, breed horses and does cage fighting (em...what is that??) was very good when she sang Amazing Grace.

Recap worth to mention for Texas Audition

The asian guy who wore a elaborated feather costume with Simon written on his hat. He told the judges that he adored Simon coz Simon name is everywhere on the media...haha...and he even created a song for them ( i think it was for Simon) called "My brothers forever". Quite a catchy song....even Randy and Paula (did she tried to dance ....looks like she lost her professional dancing moves) serenaded to his songs. A very nice guy and still adored Simon after he was rejected by him

The girl who can imitate all the singers voice like Britney Spear and Shakira. Wow she really sounds like Britney Spears. But she can sing on her own very well too. Thank goodness she got through to Hollywood

Ok...enough about American Idol, now I will give a brief recap on the Amazing Race Asia 2. Wow..this time my heart was really thumping for the Thailand team (Natassha and Paul). This time there was an intersection where 2 teams have to work together; Phillipine models team up with Singapore team, Malaysian with Malaysian team and Thailand have to wait for the married couple team who was behind 5 hours. I know I should be supporting the Malaysian teams but I am not a big fan of the dancing mums but i am okay with Vince's sisters. Thank goodness that Natassha and Paula got through...phew. Furthermore, i got worried when one of Vince's sister started to have memory loss after the 10m dive...that was scary. As expected...the models got first, the singaporean got 2nd, dancing mums got 3rd, vince sisters got 4th and hip hip horray, the best buddies girls in a nick of time arrived 5th. So the married couple got eliminated (terri and henry). Have to wait for next week

No more boring Wednesday Nights!

My first day of blogging....hehe. Welcome to me!! Tonight finally something interesting to watch...something to fill up my wednesday nights. Can't trust Astro anymore...all they show is a rerun of the same movies. What am i talking about??...yes American Idol. Something to make me laugh and groan and 'can't believe they did that' expression. I love the audition and Simon Cowell ( a love and hate relationship)..haha. So tonight gonna put up my legs and watch the series. Oops...baby kicking inside again. Guess the baby is excited to hear about American Idol also....hmm...should I expose baby to the chilling sound of the Audition. Hehe...why not...guess baby always listen to mummy singing in the shower and no complain from there.
